Where did your money go?
AMSTERDAM – The money that we collected with the first Strawberries & Cream event in café Waldorf has been spent very well. Together with expert Search, the owner of Waldorf (Waldy Brewster) has worked very hard to make some positive changes for the environment. Here’s Waldy’s shopping list: - An Aquafox, which is a smart machine for bars that saves a lot of water
- LED lights instead of normal lights
- A ‘standby killer’ for the espresso machine
- Changing from Nuon energy to Greenchoice energy
- A spring hinge on the porch door to prevent loss of warmth
- Water savers on all taps in the bar and kitchen
- The broken tap in the bathroom is going to be fixed
- Organic food on the menu where possible
- And Waldy is looking into the prices for a new window frame so the front of the bar will be double glazed and therefore better insulated
We’re very pleased with the results and actually kinda proud!
