Cities of the future are….green!
AMSTERDAM - What will our future cities look like? Green of course! On 20 March 2009 ‘N8’ is organising “Night salon” in the architectural centre ACRAM in Amsterdam, with green cities as the theme. From 8 till 11pm the programme will include film, music and performances about green cities. For example, they’ll be screening the film “Made in Detroit” about how poverty in Detroit has resulted in a lot of empty buildings, but also a serious comeback for nature. Like some sort of post apocalypse Hollywood film, abandoned houses are now overgrown and people are literally cherry picking the benefits. The makers of the film, Mascha en Manfred Poppenk, are also there for a Q&A. The “Guerilla Gardeners” will give a workshop in “How to make a seedbomb” and the Refunc collective from The Hague will show what you can do with garbage.
After “Night salon” visitors need to quickly move their butts to Club Trouw for the after party with DJ’s Cinnaman and Aardvarck. We’ll be there for sure!
