Don’t splash out on water
AMSTERDAM – The convenience of buying a bottle of water when you’re thirsty is one of the main reasons so many water bottles are sold. But what if there were water-refilling points all over the city where you could just open up the tap and refill your own bottle? If the clever people from Tap It Water have their waythat’s exactly what the future will be like in New York and eventually the world! This New York based company have struck deals with cafes and bars all over the city to allow parched customers the chance to refill their own water bottles instead of adding to piles of plastic and buying new ones.
Luckily it’s not just the New Yorkers who are doing their bit to promote the importance of saving water. Dutch based Water Footprint Network have come up with the idea of measuring people’s “water footprints”. A bit like the carbon footprint but with water.
We’ll be keeping an eye on Strawberry Earth’s “water footprint” from now on…
