Eco hangout for birds
AMSTERDAM – If you’re lucky to have birds singing as your morning alarm you may have noticed that spring is in the air! It’s time to give those lovely feathered friends of ours a decent eco present. Dutch designers at “Studio Oooms” made this cute birdhouse with mini solar panels on the roof. During the day the solar panels absorb sunlight and charge a small battery inside the birdhouse. At nighttime the battery lights up the stick you see dangling in the photo. And it’s this light, which attracts all kinds of tasty snacks for the birds who visit their wooden home. All they have to do is stick their beaks out and munch on the unsuspecting insects that are drawn to the light. What a life.
