Day 1 of the first Dutch Environmental Film Festival a success!

AMSTERDAM - What a first day! Strawberry Earth made its national prime time Dutch TV debut with Mette te Velde’s appearance on ‘De Zomer Draait Door’. Mette discussed environmental issues with the Dutch Minister of Environment, Jacqueline Cramer, and, of course, was grilled about the first Dutch Environmental Film Festival. The interview was beamed live to The Ketelhuis cinema but you can rewatch the video clip of the interview by clicking here.

Then, onto The Ketelhuis cinema… After arriving in the Minister’s car Mette and the rest of the Strawberry Earth team Ikenna Azuike and Tom van de Beek officially opened the festival by inviting the Minister to take a ceremonial bite out of an organic strawberry. All films were very nearly sold out and the opening night party was a resounding success meaning more money to make The Ketelhuis cinema eco friendlier. DJs Christian Echenique, Mamiko and Sotu the Traveller kept The Ketelhuis buzzing till 3am. And tonight we have even more films and an even bigger party.

Join Strawberry Earth, DJs from RedNose Distrikt, our Veggie VJ, ‘De Aanwijsstokjes’ and many more tonight, for great films and a massive after party in The Ketelhuis cinema. It’s time to enjoy Day 2 of the first Dutch Environmental Film Festival!

Quote: “Mette discussed environmental issues ” This was very very very dissapointing, the only thing Mette said to our minister, when she was asked what should be improved, was that they must be more alert… I could cry my eyes out.
