EVENTS

Because we don’t want to be stuck behind our computers, but actually go out and do something, we’ve decided its time for a new kind of environmentalism. Strawberry Earth helps the environment by organising the way we spend our money. Consumer power with a twist… Click on this video to see how our first event worked.

Greenchoice and Strawberry Earth present the first Dutch Environmental Film Festival!

On 5 and 6 June 2009, Strawberry Earth is organising the very first Dutch Environmental Film Festival!

We’ve asked our favourite cinemas in Amsterdam how much of their revenue from two nights they would invest in eco-friendly upgrades to their own cinema. The cinema with the highest bid, wins our film festival. It was a close call but the winner is Het Ketelhuis cinema.

Three cinema venues were willing to invest 100% of their revenue. But, Het Ketelhuis went crazy, besides bidding 100%, they also agreed to give away the savings they make on energy bills for the next 10 years to an environmental charity! We were blown away.

So… put 5 and 6 June in your diary for international films to remember, inspiring speakers and, of course, an awesome party.

The festival programme is on its way!

It turned out to be a big success for the climate and a big ass party! About 140 people came to drink for a better climate. Exclusive screening of the FUEL film

On 30 November 2008, we organised an exclusive screening of the FUEL film in The Ketelhuis cinema in Amsterdam. The director of the film, Josh Tickell, also gave a live Q&A.

FUEL is a very important film about our addiction to oil and suitable energy alternatives. It’s an optimistic film that offers solutions on how to tackle global warming. FUEL won ‘Best Documentary Audience Award 2008’ at the Sundance Film Festival in America and was shortlisted for an Oscar.

The evening in Het Ketelhuis was a success! It turned out to be a very inspiring and thought provoking night. Have a look at our video of the event and watch a trailer of the film here.
