Silent Snow

Greenchoice and Strawberry Earth present the first Dutch Environmental Film Festival!

“It’s strange how the dirtiest poison drifts to the cleanest parts of the world”. In “Silent Snow”, Gouden Kalf winner Jan van den Berg portrays a young Inuit woman on a journey over the globe. She belongs to an Inuit community in Greenland that suffers because of garbage the rest of the world creates. Chemicals like DDT poison their entire eco-system and they have to just sit by and watch it happen. Silent Snow shows the unfairness, globalism and paradoxes of a slow, silent potential environmental disaster. The film has already won several prizes and is part of the International Polar Year 2009.
